About the Classes
Our pottery classes offer a unique opportunity to learn this ancient craft from Jo-Anna, an experienced ceramicist who brings both technical expertise and artistic vision to her teaching.
Working with clay is both meditative and rewarding. You'll learn fundamental techniques including centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing, while creating pieces that reflect your personal style.

Meet Jo-Anna
Jo-Anna Duncalf is a conceptual ceramic artist and the Curator & Art Director at Palé Hall. Raised in the Conwy Valley, Wales, she studied at Howard Garden's Art School and Cardiff Art School, where she completed her Masters in 1995.
Her expertise in ceramics was further developed through two years of study in Tokoname, Japan, where she mastered advanced techniques including Raku firing. With extensive teaching experience and international artist residencies, Jo-Anna brings both technical mastery and artistic vision to her classes.
